Hi:

 

Yes, it is but it depends on what processor your notebook has as to how much memory you can install.

 

PC's with the Celeron or Pentium processors have one memory slot and the max memory is 1 x 8 GB.

 

PC's with the Intel 6th and 7th gen core processors have two memory slots and the max is 2 x 8 GB of memory.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.   Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

That is correct.

 

If you look in chapter 6 of the service manual, you will find the procedure to remove and replace the memory.
