Can I upgrade the SSD on my hp pavilion 14-ce0593sa?

hp pavilion 14-ce0593sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello! My hp pavilion 14-ce0593sa has a 128GB SSD, which for the moment is definitely enough storage for what I am using the laptop for, but I was just wondering if I was able to upgrade the SSD on my laptop. Also, what would give a greater impact on the speed of the laptop: upgrading the SSD or ugprading the RAM?

@George113

Your machine only has 128GB of storage, its specs

which is TOO small for today standard. You can upgrade to larger capacity SSD using M.2 SSD from Crucial P1 series MX500 series (cheaper and slower). For example

      https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-14-ce0068st/CT13106375

For RAM, it only has  one slot, you can upgrade to 8GB or 16GB using

     https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-14-ce0068st/CT13106409

Note: The manual says:  One SODIMM memory module slot, non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable. But you can upgrade at your own risk

Regards.

We have already discussed this a bit in your other post. You already have an SSD which is pretty fast and upgrading the size (capacity) of the SSD will not make the laptop any faster.  However, the 128 gig M.2 SSD you have is a SATA type and you could get some speed improvement by getting what is called a PCIe/NVME M.2 SSD. Again, however, because your laptop is the lower end Pentium Gold processor I am not certain it can use an NVME M.2. I do believe it can, however. An NVME is faster but I think the extra speed would not be much more than you would get from upgrading from 4 to 8 gigs RAM. If it were my machine I would do both. 8 gigs RAM and a 512 PCie/NVME M.2 SSD is what I would install. The Pentium Gold is the low end of available processors on this model but performs pretty much like an i3 so you could have a pretty fast little machine for a pretty reasonable investment overall.
