Can I use a NVMe PCIe Gen 3 on my laptop?

Recently I found an NVMe, I wonder if I can use it on my Folio 9480m, the exact model of tghe ssd is, PC SN520 NVMe 128GB SSD.

Welcome !

 

This model you use is slightly old nowadays and it does not support latest NVMe technology.

 

You might use classical SATA SSD and mSATA (M2 ) -> check your model's service manual >> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228980

 

Even though it may not be NVMe SSD, I strongly recommend that you upgrade to an SSD drive if you use the old type hard disk drive (HDD) to improve performance and enjoy your activities better.
