Hello guys,

As you can understand from the topic, i wanna upgrade my HD screen to FHD.

This model notebooks on sale in the market have 2 types of screen options both HD and FHD and it encouraged me to upgrade my screen. I would like to ask you anyone did this before on g7 models?

I think both screen versions using same kind of cables and motherboards and only changing screen would work but i am not sure 😞

I will be grateful for any kind of help. Thanks.

Dear experts,

Here is the manual of this model.

https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c06550147&doctype=quickspecs&doclang=EN_US&se...

According to display part of the manual,

DISPLAY
Internal
Non-Touch
39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal HD SVA eDP anti-glare WLED-backlit slim, 220 cd/m², 67% sRGB (1366 x 768)8, 10,11
39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal FHD SVA eDP anti-glare WLED-backlit slim, 220 cd/m², 67% sRGB (1920 x 1080)8,10,11
HDMI
Port supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 external resolution @60 Hz
8. HD content required to view HD images.
10. Resolutions are dependent upon monitor capability, and resolution and color depth settings.
11. Sold separately or as an optional feature.

As you can see, this model gives 2 different resolutions as option, and my hope is both mainboard and flex cables which goes to screen are compatible with both hd and fhd screens.

PS: Even head office couldn't answer my question 😞 They said it is maybe possible...
