Pavilion 15 Model 15-e184nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can HP 15-e184nr laptop ram be upgraded from  8gb to 16gb running Windows 10 operating system. Current documentation states laptop contains 2 slots with 8gb ram max capacity. Note: Laptop has one 8gb ram module installed in one slot and one empty slot.

Hi:

All the sources I found say no (service manual, crucial).

But it makes no sense that an 8 GB chip would work in one slot and not both.

Do you have any DDR3L memory laying around you can test in the empty slot?

If any capacity works, then 8 GB should also work.

It would be something you would have to experiment with.
