Well I think I could figure the subject, HP-ENVY 17t came with different models, the one probable with the 4th generation processor is HP-ENVY-JXXX, and that one can have two 2.5 inch sata drives, the one with the 5th generation processor is HP-ENVY-KXXX, this one came with only one one 2.5 inch bay drives, the one with the 6th generation processor is HP-ENVY-NXXX, this one also came with only one bay for the 2.5 inch sata drive
You mention that yours in n000, I think yours is JXXX, please have a look at the lable in the back and not at the lable on the battery, the photo you uploaded didnt show up, I dont know why

Maybe this will help someone. I am linking to a picture I took of my board. My config is I7, 16GB, 1TB (no SSD), with the 4GB graphics option.
If someone else wants to show me where a second HDD could go (including where it might plug to the board) that would be awesome! I do not see a spot. I think the Skylake models are trying to utilize the newer SSD tech that is out (and supposedly super fast).
Anyway, this might save someone from taking out a few screws for just a peek!

ANNNNNND of course the moment I post a picture, I look at it for the 5th time and realize where the second drive bay is.... 😞
Top right of the picture. Zoom in on the board and you can see the plug point labeled HDD2 on the board... oh my, forgive me.

This link should take you to the photos on my Google Drive. There are definitely 2 hdds along with a spot for the M.2 ssd. With the OS installed on the ssd, this machine is like lightning.....I've got 4tb of storage. Loving it so far. - Mark

Many thanks, your photo shows it obviously
It is supposed that it is where you said, at the top right, but what do you mean there is a lable with writing HDD2, where is the socket, did HP take of the socket, I dont think so because they sell this laptop with an option of 4gb storage, mean 2 * 2 2tb HDD sata drive, thats mean the place for the 2nd hard drive is there, but is the socket there to, can you have a better look, you are the only one till now whom got such a look

It is there, when I refer to your link in google drive it is clear that the socket is there for the second HDD and what about the interface that connect the HDD to the socket which is shown in your link of photos, where did you got this interface, did it come with the laptop or you buy it from another place, does the second HDD can be installed with removing this cover and lable, it it removable

You should be able purchase the parts from HP, but I had a poor experience with them. They have the ribbon cable, but could not produce the connector. The connector is on another site for around $75...nit worth it.
I ended up returning my ssd model and reordering the model with 4tb...it was easier and cheaper.

The cable and the hardware can be found through HP at http://partsurfer.hp.com . I'm really confused though, because I purchased the cable in October for around $25....and now it is raised to $73.15. At that point, it did not include the connector though. They couldn't sell the connector to me and it didn't have a part number, which seemed to be due to a mistake in the parts manual. I wonder if they are now including the connector as part of the HDD cable and that's the reason for the price hike.
I suggest you contact HP through chat and ask them if that part number includes both the cable and the connector. If they say that it does, save the chat session transcript for your records and order it up. If they are wrong, they have to refund.
