Can't charge HP Pavilion laptop via USB C

HP Recommended
Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pretty sure it's possible to charge the laptop via the USB C port but when I plug it into the wall nothing happens.

Not really, not all USB-C ports are the same. What is your machine ?  Please use the following way to find out model/product of your machine

Please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n).

The specs of your machine is

which shows it only has  1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does not support charging as indicated.
