Hi,
I just got a message from Amazon saying that my HP laptop may be at risk with regards to the battery, I downloaded the battery checker from the HP website but it keeps saying it can't connect to the service. I've checked the list that they've provided and only the 15" model seems to be affected but I would like to verify my laptop for the battery to have peace of mind.

Hello @bionicle_159,
I understand. If you want to verify and the tool doesn't seem to work, try contacting the team either through phone or email. You can see the contact options on the side of the page of the site I linked above.
Just send them your product number and they should be able to help you.
Hope that helps.

Hello @bionicle_159,
You are referring to the tool on this site - correct? Try the fully loaded battery validation utility.
The only ENVY device that was affected by this recall is the ENVY m6 so you should be fine.
The ENVY 15 is only affected in terms of replacement batteries. Customers which purchased accessories for this device may have purchased a defective battery and even then, this is the 15", non-x360 device which is completely different from your personal device.
Hope that helps.

Yeah that’s the one, I’d already tried the fully loaded one and it still had the same issue. I understand that this issue is quite a few months old but you can probably understand my concern when Amazon reaches out to me about a product I bought that was most likely manufactured a while before the battery issue was found and resolved.
I’m hoping there’s a way to alternative way to verify it via submitting my product’s serial or ID code.
