Charging and external display monitor does not work through my USB-C Mini docking station

I have recently bought a pluggable mini USB-C docking station only to find that the external display monitor does not work through the doc (USB-C > Doc > HDMI > Monitor). Also the laptop does not charge (but I kind of expected that!).

Does my pavilion support USB-C Alternate Mode Video output? and charging? (I can't find any details anywhere else about this!!)

It ONLY has  1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port that means it works similar to normal USB 3.1 type A ports, except it has USB-C connector.

In short, you can't charge your machine, you can't use monitor without adapter. Very interesting: it does not have any port for normal video out (HDMI. DP ...) that means you always need adapter/dock to connect to external monitor(s).
