HP Laptop PC 15q-ds3001tu

Hey, I’m planning to install an SSD in the M.2 slot. I currently have a 1TB HDD and want to add an additional SSD. I’ve come to know there are NVME and SATA types of SSDs, so I want to know which type of SSD is compatible with my laptop, since Amazon doesn’t offer a return option for SSDs.
My laptop model is HP Laptop PC 15q-ds3001tu

You're very welcome.

That is because your PC has probably been configured to support an Intel NVMe SSD with Optane memory which accelerates the SSD and has to be configured in RAID mode.

The other thing that could have been offered in the model series was a 16 GB or 32 GB Intel Optane M.2 memory device used to accelerate the 2.5" drive and that also has to be configured in RAID mode.

If you were to install a M.2 NVMe SSD in the slot as I suggested, you will see a new line under that storage controllers device manager category and that would be a NVMe controller device.

The hard drive would still show up as a SATA RAID device and that cannot be changed.
