Create a recovery drive with upgraded W10

Pavilion 14z-1000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop came with W8.0.  I upgraded to W10 home. But I have to rebuild due to a virus. The only way was to restore W8.0 back then go thru the entire upgrade. Does anyone know how to re-create W10 in the recovery partition? This would save a great deal of time since W8.0 is history!

Create a recovery drive with upgraded W10

Hi @johnsassoc,

Thank you for your inquiry! I am happy to help.

I understand that your notebook came with Windows 8 and you have upgraded to Windows 10. You want to do a fresh install of Windows 10, due to a virus on your computer. If you do a HP recovery you will go back to Windows 8 and then you would have to upgrade it again to Windows 10. You would like to know if it is possible to just install Windows 10. You certainly can do that. You will need to use the media creation tool to create installation media. Here are links to help you with that process.:
