This is the first time im using this forum and apologize for my bad english.
So lately I have found my laptop is running a little bit hot when playing games, it reach 104c then its started to throttle, and im talking the cpu has only ultilize for 30%-ish while running Arma 3. Then I search alone through internet seeing if there anyone having the same problem, and I have found this http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/HOW-TO-FIX-DV7-FAN-OVERHEATING-PROBLEM/td-p/1360861 . According to animenick345, the heat sink design has its own problem where the overflow toward the cpu heat sink has been block by the fan case. And I did the same mod as he does, the temperature does reduce dramatically and started trigger turbo boost again. (it used to stuck on stock clock on my i7). but still wasnt good enough for holding it heat problem, still throttle once in few mins. So now I have found this http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-envy-hdx/696550-extremely-hot-temps-dv7-7200-anyone-else-getting-... and http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Mysterious-Water-Damage-that-I-know-was-not... . They both has mentioned heat sink parts 684125-00 while I did research on every dv7 serivce guide that could not found that parts, it only shows 682061-001 either for 45w with a discrete gpu 650m or 630m.
My question is does HP really redesgin the thermal component? and it seems to find any infomation about the new heat sink.
