OMEN by HP 15-dc1877no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I'm wondering whether or not Omen 15-dc1877nr/15-dc1877no has an additional (M.2) SSD slot? I am somewhat interested about getting more internal drive space but I couldn't find any info on whether or not it's possible for this particular laptop. Some games I'm playing are a bit on the larger side and an additional internal drive would be handy in that regard.

TL;DR, I'd like to know whether or not there's an additional SSD slot to begin with and if there is, what type of SSD it fits and is the operation to add the additional SSD how hard (for example what parts inside the laptop I'd need to move to get to the free slot)? The laptop in question already has an 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD in it so I'm not totally running out of space as of now but I'd like to know if the upgrade would be possible due to the reason above.

Hopefully someone knows about this, thanks in advance!

Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that there is only one M.2 slot.

So, if you need more storage, you will have to replace the existing 1 TB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

The service manual indicates that you can add a 2.5" drive but normally the parts are not there to add one if the notebook only came with a M.2 SSD.

You'd have to open up the notebook and see if that would be possible.

Personally, I would opt to install a 2 TB NVMe SSD.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for the help, this makes the matter a lot clearer to me! 2TB seems like a sensible solution to me too.
