@SBM007, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Yes, it has the M.2 port for SSD and the interface is SATA 3.

Here is the link to the Service Guide.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

I had opened motherboard and found no M.2 slot. Service manual has provided wrong info.

Note: This laptop I bought in India

Only option for SSD upgrade is replace DVD bay with SSD with Adapter

@SBM007 The maintenance and service guide is universal and not dependent on region, if you've shared the correct model name, the information provided to you previously is accurate, however, if you can't find the M.2 SSD slot, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.

I have followed your steps. No call back from HP.

As I mentioned before. My laptop is Pavilion 15 p204tx . I have opened and checked motherboard personally and found no M.2 Port.

This I'm writing to help owners of this laptop. Also refer below link to have a look at mother board. It's a same board which I have too in my laptop and it has

"No M.2 SSD port"
