HP envy x360, Year 2016

Hey everyone,

i’d like to know if my laptop supports an NVMe SSD.

the product number is M1V65UA#ABA

It came with a 1TB HDD.

I purchased it in 2016.

I took a peek under the hood but couldn’t find an NVMe port, but then again I may have overlooked it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual.

HP ENVY x360 m6 ConvertibleModel numbers: m6-w000 – m6-w099Model numbers: m6-w100 – m6-w199HP ENVY x...

Notebooks that came with M.2 SSD's have a M.2 slot that only supports SATA SSD's.

Notebooks with M.2 slots use a different motherboard than those that come with 2.5" drives.

If you look at chapter 3, pages 15 - 16, you will see the separate lists of motherboards...those with and without M.2 slots.

Since your notebook did not come from the factory with a M.2 SATA SSD, it does not have a M.2 slot.

Thanks for your prompt response Paul.

Much appreciated.

I’m going to upgrade to a 2.5” Sata SSD then.

i hope there are no issues with this.

You're very welcome.

You should have no problems with replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
