Dose the HP pavilion 15-bc225tx support Samsung 950 PRO NVMe M.2?

Hi @15-BC225TX

Good Day! Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! I read your post about upgrading the SSD card on your computer. I will be delighted to assist you with this. 🙂

Fabulous diagnosis and superb analysis of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. It is always a privilege to work with technical specialists like you. 🙂

You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. We greatly appreciate you for doing business with HP.

Based on the computer model# and the specs I reviewed the service and maintenance guide from this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357577

These are the supported SSDs for your computer with the part numbers listed.

GNRC SSD 128 GB 2280 M2 SATA-3 Value TL   Part number- 827560-017

GNRC SSD 256 GB 228 0M2 PCIe 3x4SS NVMeTLC TL Part number- 847109-005

GNRC SSD512GB 2280M2PCIe3x4SS NVMeTLC TL Part Number - 847110-002

Please note that HP does not recommend upgrading either the operating system or the computer’s hardware as the components that were initially installed with the unit are certified by HP for optimal performance.

However, as you are very technically inclined, I would still request you to consult a local technician like Best Buy or Staples before proceeding to upgrade the unit.

So please contact a local technician and perform the upgrade so that there are no compatibility issues with the SSD upgrade for your computer and everything works smoothly.

So the Samsung 50 PRO NVMe M.2 or SM961 is not supported.

Please contact HP part store to try and order the part. Link: http://partsurfer.hp.com

Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.  There could be phone number listed for you to contact them also.

You could also contact HP phone support for the required SSDs

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

Hope this helps.  Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
