I need the Samsung SSD Nvme Driver, the HP site doesnt provide it (neither does Samsung because it is an OEM ssd)

i have searched for it everywhere and I cant find it

model of the ssd: MZ-VLQ2560 / PM991

Dell uses a similar model (pm991) but different size.. i dont want to brick my ssd, can I contact someone from hp to provide the driver for me? thanks everyone!!

Hi:

I used the Samsung NVMe driver on my HP 15-ee047nr notebook with an OEM Samsung NVMe SSD.

https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/global.semi.static/SamsungNVMExpressDriver3.3/7322A6707A720E...

Even the Samsung Magician software partially worked on it as far as showing performance.

I uninstalled that software though.

But the NVMe driver works just fine.

The model of my notebook's drive is Samsung MZVLB512HBJQ-000H1

The Samsung NVMe controller driver is installed and working properly...listed under the Storage controllers device manager category...driver version 3.3.0.2003 January 21, 2020.

Why do you think the Samsung NVMe driver would brick your SSD?

It's a driver, not firmware.

Trying to install firmware from a different model SSD would brick it.

Sadly, it didnt work

I have read other people's experiences that installing the wrong driver for your ssd would freeze your computers or make it very unstable (so requiring a new clean install).. so yeah bricking it was a poor word decision.

SAMSUNG_MZVLQ256HAJD-000H1 is  the precise model of my ssd

Sorry the driver didn't work for you.

HP doesn't have any NVMe drivers for any of the NVMe drives they install, so I guess you will have to live with the Microsoft NVMe Controller driver that W10 installs by default.

I wonder why the driver worked on my notebook's SSD?

I guess I was just lucky.
