Elitebook x360 1040 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I managed to get a quite good deal on a i7 Elitebook x360 1040 G5, but the model has to little storage, so I'll immediately swap the SSD.

How do I manage to get the OS and all data & drivers onto the new SSD?

I'm new to HP, so is there an option to create a recovery media, that let's me reinstall Windows with drivers and all HP system programs?

Also, is the lan adapter included with the Elitebook, as otherwise data transfer from my old laptop will be a pain in the...

Best & thanks in advance for help!

Hello

X360 1040 G5 doesn't have a RJ45 port. you need an adapter USB or USB-C to RJ45".

Best and fastwer way to reinstall Windows 10 is to download and install on a computer the software HP Cloud Recovery Client.

with it you can download Windows 10 and driver for 1040 G5.

1045 G5 has an embedde recovery solution, you must have HP USB-C to Rj45 adapter, then press F11 to start HP Sure Recover.

in that way you reinstall Windows 10 ONLY.

otherwise, from here you can download HP Cloud Recovery Client

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/CloudRecovery/crsupportedplatform.html

that will create an USB bootable media to reinstall Windows 10

for drivers, you should use HP Image Assistant, that will analyze you PC and you can downaload and install all driver.

here an example about how to use HP Image Assistant:
