Hi,

The following link shows its specs:

It ONLY has  a normal 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA

Regards.

No, it's not my laptop i'm asking about. I know it has a 5400 TB drive. What i would like to know is with those Envy 15 laptops that DO have a SSD PCIe 256GB drive, what brand and model is it? It would be interesting to see for me so i could see what drive would be completly compatible.

Envy 15 SSD PCIe 256GB drive model

Hi, sorry but your not understanding my question. The only thing i want to know is what is the m.2 SSD drive that comes with the current model Envy 15, more specifically the 256GB version. Anyone that has looked under the hood of these new laptops should be able to tell me. I had hoped that the m.2 SSD's currently being used by HP would be common knowledge among you techs.

Envy 15 SSD PCIe 256GB drive model

Hey,
last week I recieved my new Envy 15 with i5-7200U and 256 GB SSD but due to a crooked left display hinge today i changed it for a I7-7500U version, also with 256 GB SSD.
Both machines have the same NVMe SSD built in: Samsung MZVLV256, what is a Samsung PM 951.

Greetings from Germany!

Samsung PM951 is a consumer grade low-end entry level PCI-e M.2. I have one I added to my Zbook 15 G3. It is technically NVME (pci-e) but they do not have impressive write speed. Read speed is consistent with being an NVME/pci-e.

Yes, i think in normal basic activities, the read speed will be more important than the write speed. For me, the combo of the new Kaby Lake i7 with the PM 951 seems to be a great deal so far, will wait to see what the battery life looks like after a few days.
