Hi,

I previously posted this (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Laptop-turns-off-on-battery-po...) on the forum and my battery seemed to work fine for a couple weeks then the problem started again.

Now since today I'm getting error 601 and my battery remains at 0% throughout.

Is there a solution to this? Is there a way to disable this message at startup altogether without removing the battery? Thanks

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Check for the BIOS update ?

Check for windows updates?

This only solution to fix if its software issue,

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi, Thanks for replying

No recent hardware changes except adding 4GB ram 1 year back, which is working fine.

I see I have F34 BIOS version currently and on HP drivers latest version is F36, so I'll be updating that and check for windows updates later today as well, though I think my battery is dead.

Will update if it works out 🙂

Hi,

I did bios update, windows update, uninstalled battery driver and re-installed, nothing works

Can I not disable the prompt at boot regarding battery error code 601? It keeps bugging me at every startup and I don't think I'll find battery for my device anywhere.

Thanks

Hi@Shamo003,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue, and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now,

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest youContact HPin your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
