Hi @tham2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Battery Alert message that you're encountering with error code 601 typically indicates that the battery in your HP Pavilion Gaming - 15 laptop has a significant capacity drop and may need to be replaced. The error code 601 specifically refers to a "Primary (internal) Battery" issue.

Here are some general steps you can take.

Check Battery Health:

  • Open the HP Support Assistant on your laptop.
  • Look for a battery check or health check option.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to run a battery test.

Calibrate the Battery:

  • Sometimes, calibrating the battery can help. To do this, fully charge your laptop, and then let it discharge until it shuts down. Charge it again to full capacity. This process can help the battery gauge to more accurately display the remaining charge.

Update BIOS:

  • Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. HP may release BIOS updates that address battery-related issues.

Check Power Settings:

  • Make sure your power settings are configured appropriately. You can access these settings through the Control Panel on a Windows system.

Regarding the Failure ID you mentioned, it's a unique identifier tied to the specific test failure.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
