Greetings!
I own an HP BS576TX and wish to upgrade my GPU as I need to do a lot of video editing work on the device.
Can you help me verify whether or not my motherboard will support an External GPU?
- If yes, what are the best options for me, kindly guide me with that.
- If not, then how should I proceed?
My Specs are:
CPU-
Intel® Core™ i5-7200U (2.5 GHz base frequency, up to 3.1 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 3 MB cache, 2 cores) |
Memory-
16 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
SSD-
500GB Samsung 860 EVO SATA M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-N6E500)
Hard Drive-
1 TB 5400 rpm SATA
GPU-
AMD Radeon™ 520 Graphics (2 GB DDR3 dedicated)
Motherboard-
832B
Looking forward to your support.
Thank You!

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Yes, it is possible to upgrade the GPU capabilities of your HP Notebook - 15-bs576tx (2EY73PA), but it would be (prohibitively) expensive, since the discrete graphics card component is part of the system (mother) board along with the processor. That means that you'll have to swap the entire system board for one with a higher performing CPU/GPU, that is, if they are available at all...
According to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257.pdf, here are your GPU/CPU upgrade options:
Intel Core i7-8550U processor and 4 GB of discrete graphics memory
HP L10346-601 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+L10346-601+&_sacat=0, starting at $951
Intel Core i7-7500U processor and 4 GB of discrete graphics memory
HP 924759-601 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+924759-601&_sacat=0&LH..., starting at $320
Intel Core i5-8250U processor and 4 GB of discrete graphics memory
HP L10345-601 https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=HP+L10345-601&_sacat=0&LH..., starting at $421
Intel Core i5-7200U processor and 4 GB of discrete graphics memory
HP 924758-601 **unavailable**
And no, your laptop does not have a suitable graphics interface I/O slot for an external graphics card.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

Thank you so much @NonSequitur777 for the warm welcome and also, for such a prompt and elaborative response.
Alas! Guess I am left with no other choice than to purchase a new, more powerful personal computer.
Thank you once again though. This was really helpful.
