OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-n0000 (5B1T5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey!

I've had my Omen lapop for over a year now and it has been running seamlessly. I use it for casual gaming and nothing too taxing and so I wanted to upgrade and include a monitor in my set up. I have the MSI G2712F which was bought about a week ago. For the first day I got it, it worked fine. Setup was fine and I could play games with no lag whatsover. However, over the past week it has been lagging non-stop on my external monitor. In particular, I have to basically fight my mouse in order to point where I actually want it to go. When I can finally get my cursor on what I want to click, it takes awhile to even open up.

I've researched a bunch and have tried various fixes to no avail. For example, updating all my graphics drivers, windows updates, changing refresh rates and resolutions and even trying a different HDMI port. I've turned hardware acceleration off and whatnot too.

Nothing seems to help. Even called Curry's for troubleshooting and the most they did was tell me to reinstall the drivers I'd just updated. Did nothing to help at all! It definitely isn't the monitor's issue as I have connected it to another laptop and even my switch with no issues. Can my laptop really not handle a monitor?

Any help would be much appreciated !
