So recently, I've sent my hp omen out for repair to a HP authorized repair shop. They changed my motherboard. When I got my laptop back I noticed that my factory warranty was removed. Does anyone know why this could have happened? When checking my SKU, it says its 7Q7X4EA#AB8, but when I check the service order, the repair shop said that their Supplier's item number SKU is 7Q7X4EAR#AB8 where R I suppose means repaired? This second SKU belongs to the same laptops Serial number as the first SKU, with the exception that the second SKU has active warranty of 18months, where the primary SKU (and the one that my laptop reports) has no warranty?
I hope someone from the community will be faster in replying back that HP trough mail.
Thanks!

When your HP Omen’s motherboard was swapped out, the repair shop installed a replacement board with SKU 7Q7X4EAR#AB8 (the “R” marks it as refurbished). Your laptop still shows the original SKU 7Q7X4EA#AB8, which has no active warranty.
Why your warranty looks gone
• HP tracks warranty by part SKU.
• The new “R” SKU has its own 18‑month coverage, but your system isn’t updated to it.
What to do
- Contact HP support with your serial number.
- Explain the M/B swap and give them both SKUs.
- Ask them to reconcile records so your laptop recognizes the “R” SKU warranty.
- Keep your repair receipt and service order handy.
Once HP aligns the SKUs in their system, your replacement board’s warranty will show up properly.
