Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Most relevant info is in the title.  The fans on this laptop refuse to come on even if the CPU is sitting at 100 degrees C (Data gathered using HWMonitor).  I can select comfort mode, performance mode, normal mode, and even quiet mode, but the fans just do not come on, resulting in the laptop going into a thermal shutdown multiple times in a row.

@Vaughn_ HP doesn't recommend using 3rd party software to benchmark the device as it may not be accurate, also, the fans are system managed, there's no way to change the way it works, that said, if you feel the device is overheating, here's a few things you need to do, to resolve the issue:

Click here to see this video in full screen on YouTube to reduce Heat Inside the Laptop to Prevent Overheating, alternatively, you can Click here for step by step instructions.

Also, to resolve issues such as Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly:

  • Updating your Notebook computer BIOS
  • Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean
  • Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat
  • Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes
  • Selecting power save settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use
