The hinges on my HP 17t laptop broke after about 18 months.  I arranged to have it repaired under my extended warranty.  The Indian support person Piyush Chandra said to expect a box from FedEx in which to send the laptop to the repair facility.  The box was sent from La Vergne, TN on Friday 1/24/20 and was supposed to be delivered to me on Monday 1/27/20 but it was reported on Fed Ex tracking that the address was incorrect.  No one contacted me to inform me of this.

 

The Indian support person Piyush Chandra DID make a mistake in the address, but I corrected it by email immediately and was told by her/him that she/he made the correction.  Evidently, she/he did not correct the address.  (Would this have happened if HP had American support people?  I doubt it.)

 

Now my box has been sitting at the FedEx destination facility for almost a week.  

 

I could take the laptop to the repair facility in Grapevine, TX if I had the address since it is not far from where I live, but I was told by a third party repair shop HP uses that consumers aren't allowed at the repair facility.  Everything has to move by FedEx.

I can call FedEx and give them the corrected address and include a note to the repair facility where to return it to me.

I live fairly close to the repair facility.  I could take my laptop to the repair facility myself, but I was told HP doesn't allow that.  Is that correct?

HP Recommended

FedEx won't allow the recipient to alter the delivery address.  The shipper--HP--must call.  So simple yet so time-consuming and complicated for globalist company like HP.  How many more days or weeks will it take HP to make a call?

 

The address is correct except for the apartment number.  That's all FedEx needs is the correct apartment number.

Can you tell me if the repair technicians work on Saturday and/or Sunday at the Grapevine, Texas facility?
 
If not, I will wait until Monday to send in my laptop for repair.
