Hp envy 360

Hello!
I purchased this laptop a few weeks ago, it’s a hp envy 360. Tonight, before turning it off, it appeared that there was a update, so as usual, I clicked on “update and shoot down” however it was different from the other times. Firstly, it appeared a blue screen with a bar charging multiple things up to 100, after that, the screen turned black an a blue box stating “flashing boot block” appeared several times while intermittently turning on and off.. after a while, the computer restarted (even though I chose turn off) so I thought it was the end of it. However, when I clicked to turn it off, it again appeared as it there was an update, this time I chose to turn it off normally without updating cause the computer seemed to suffer before.. but I don’t know why it appears again, maybe the update couldn’t be done since there was a problem or maybe it’s another update.. but I don’t want to risk damaging my computer since it was new and expensive, so idk if I should try again or leave it be.. could you please help me please

@Paulatt

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (Refer to the removable and sealed battery)
BIOS default:(do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and    Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
