Hi!

I changed the configuration in the BIOS in order not to use Fn key + F5 to refresh the browser but it´s doesn´t work. All the other keys (F3 por example to adjust brightness) works perfectly but for refreshing I still need to press Fn + F5.  How can I fix it?

Hi @Barachiel, I´ve had this problem since I bought it, it´s brand new.

I updated the bios succesfully and the problem remains...

Your keyboard probably has a 'FN LOCK' ("Function Lock") key.

When FN-LOCK is active, pressing any of F1-F12 manipulates your hardware (volume-up, volume-down, brightness-down, brightness-up).

When FN-LOCK is not active, pressing any of F1-F12 sends information to the current application program.

For example, pressing 'F5' causes some web-browsers to "refresh" the current window.

So there´s no solution? I won´t be able to press F5 to refresh de browser without pressing Fn at the same time?

There is, if there is a 'FN LOCK' key somewhere on your keyboard.

Just like the 'CAPS LOCK' key locks the keyboard into producing upper-case letters,

using the 'FN LOCK' key should lock those 12 "function-keys" into either "hardware" or "application" mode.

No Fn Lock key...

From looking at: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05633409

it seems that you are correct.

So, enter BIOS SETUP, and change the functionality ("multimedia keys" versus "function keys").
