Product: Compaq Presario CQ62
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I need to upgrade my laptops RAM as it has a capacity of 3GB, this is not sufficient to work on large applications.So how much maximum RAM can i use for my laptop and what specification product would be best fit for my laptop series? What are the things should i makesure before upgrading my computers RAM?

Can you provide the complete product or model number of your PC, as there are many series of CQ62 computers and even more models. Here is link to HP support page showing how to find it:

Hi,

Only now did I see that you provided more of the model number in title of question. 

 

the notebook supports 8GB of DDR3 1066Mhz RAM (2x4GB)

On page 1-1 of service manual you can see various configurations. On page 4-10 you can see the steps to upgrade RAM
