Grinding/glitchy noise coming from Gaming OMEN laptop

HP Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought an HP Omen 2 months ago. For the last month it has made a glitchy noise that can also sound like grinding. It espicially happens when I watch videos of any kind, or if I am just on the web. Strangely, it stops making the noise when I play a video game such as overwatch. I know for a fact that it is a hardware problem as I have performed tests. It has something to do with the power or the fan. It changes loudness when i change the power settings. Is this Normal? I would appreciate if I got an answer ASAP. Thank you in advance!

The issue you're describing is most likely coil whine.  On my Envy x360, the coil whine happens when CPU is in idle mode.  So it can be heard in quiet rooms.  Luckily it doesn't happen under CPU load.  On other systems, like yours, the whine happens under load.  Not much can be done on laptops.  You can alter Windows power management modes to hopefully avoid which power state that the whine occurs on your system.

What is coil whine? Is there a way to prevent it? Cooler Master message: Check out their products at http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/ and learn more at http://cmu.coolermaster.com/en/

This noise is a real pain in quiet environments and is not related to the fan or audio speakers as HP support "assumes". It is gone when disabling the CPU power states. Replacing the laptop, and replacing the mainboard of the second laptop did not make a difference. It is obviously a hardware ...
This laptop is a garbage. I've had it less than a month and this morning it decided to not cooperate with me. This noise happens when I am running a large video file, programming, scrolling through websites with lots of media.

Yesterday I did some tests with other Omen laptops and it has the same coil whine. I'm don't worry anymore. The warranty will don't solve it.It's not a defect.Except if the coil whine is too loud, in this case. It will be better send the unit to warranty

All laptop brand has this coil whine(HP,MSI,APPLE,ASUS etc!!)

Keep calm, You should don't worry about it.

kind regards
