Grinding noise, HDD?

HP Recommended
HP OMEN 15t (V7F57AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Either my fan or HDD is louder than usual and when I tilt or carry my laptop it makes a loud whirring/grinding noise.

I removed the screws on the back (all of them). But could not get the cover off without forcing it.

I am worried that I will break it if I pull up on the cover too hard.

What should I do?

More likely the fan than hdd making that noise. It may need a good cleaning with a can of compressed air. Clogged vents will cause heat buildup and cause the fan to run faster.

Removing the bottom does require a bit of force. The Service Manual may help:
