HD SSD internal for Pavillion g6-1278SL

Hello to all,

I'd like to upgrade my notebook Pavillion g6-1278SL (bought in 2012) by replacing the current HD with an HD SSD.

Can you please help me by suggesting a compatible model or the correct port type (SATA, SATA III, etc)?

Any standard 2.5" SSD for laptops/notebooks will work. The only thing I'd like to mention here: your machine use 9.5mm (thickness HDD) and many SSD's have 7mm thickness therefore you need a spacer/adapter. I know Crucial sells their 2.5" SSD's with spacer included

If your notebook has an Intel 2nd gen core processor, the SATA controller should be SATA III.

If your notebook has an Intel 1st gen core processor, the SATA controller is SATA II, but this drive is backward compatible to SATA II and still will deliver great performance.

I've put 7.0 mm SSD's in notebooks that originally came with 9.5mm drives.

I didn't need anything.

The holes lined up in the caddy and the connectors lined up too.
