Product: HP 14-BP068SA
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

From some days ago my laptop does not fully charge the battery. When the battery reach certain percentage (51%) just shows plugged in but not charging. If I disconnect the charger and connect it again it sometimes charge again and I was able to charge the battery until a 78%. However, it does not do it by it self, I have to disconnect the charger and reconnect it.

 

When the battery is in plugged in but not charging status the HP Support Assistant, HP Hardware Diagnosis and the UEFI Diagnosis shows the Blown Fuse (42) fault. However, when it is unpluged or charging normally it says that the battery is working OK.

 

I tried a lot of things but they did not work:

- I have updated the BIOS

- Totally discharge the battery

- Uninstall the battery drivers

 

Is there any other solution or do I have to replace the battery? It looks like it is a common failure in HP laptops.

How old is the laptop and the battery? All Li-ion batteries fail at some point and it is not unique to HP. The same companies make batteries for all laptop makers. So yes it appears you need to replace the battery and we are happy to provide manuals, purchase links, etc. if you wish.

1 year and a half. It does not seem to be because of time because I didn´t use it a lot.
