Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just started using my old laptop. It hasn't been used for nearly two years and when last used was just under a year old.

I cannot get the battery to re-charge.

I have had the laptop connected to power for 24 hours and the battery icon is still showing as 0%. It is working fine on mains power but has absolutely zero battery power.

I have run the HP Support Diagnostic Battery Check which confirms the battery is in good health and working fine but confirms it needs  charging.

My wife has the same laptop and I have tried her charger in my laptop. Both chargers work fine and the laptop works fine on mains power but neither seem to be capable of charging my laptop. Both chargers have also been checked on my wifes laptop and they are charging fine.

Is there something in the laptop that has blocked the battery being charged or am i best to replace the battery?
