Hi. I've got a faulty device with random crashes. I've contacted support with no result. Recently, I've discovered it was a RAM issue, a faulty module. I've tried to change the faulty module (8GB) with a new one (16GB) but the new one is not recognized. Could you please tell me what is the maximum RAM supported by this computer? The exact model is HP 15s-eq3003sl.
The utility on CMD returns a value of 16777216.
Since the computer has got two slots, is it intended that the maximum slot capacity is 8GB? So, does this explain why my 16GB module was not recognized?
Could you please also indicate me where I could retrieve this information?
Thank you.
Cheers.

Hi:
It is very possible that 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory is the maximum supported since that is what you got when you ran the Windows report.
The problem is that HP only has the service manual for the older 15s-eq0xxx model series on your notebook's support page, and according to chapter 1 of that manual it indicates 2 x 8 GB of memory is supported.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook's model series indicates that 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported, so I don't know what the problem could be.
Make sure that you are buying DDR4-3200 memory with a CL 22 timing specification.

Hi Paul. Firstly, thank you for your kind and clarifying answer.
The 16GB module I've tried to install was CL21.
I've chosen a CL21 model since I've analyzed my computer with RamExpert utility, and it showed the module name (Samsung M471A1K43EB1-CWE) and addressed me to a site where it says that this module is CL21 (https://www.senetic.co.uk/product-m471a1k43eb1-cwe/).
But now I'm not sure about this information reliability.
HWINFO shows various values about CL.
While CPU-Z shows a value of 22.
So, for my new attempt, I've chosen a CL22 (8GB) module.

You're very welcome.
Yes, I believe the CL21 spec is what caused the memory not to work.
But you should be doubly safe installing an 8 GB DDR2-2400 CL 22 Memory chip.
You'll have 16 GB of memory running in dual channel mode and that should be enough for most applications.
