HP Notebook 17-ca0014ds

I have recently noticed that my 17 Inch HP laptop comes apart at the right corner near the hinge when I open and close the screen.  I can press it and it goes back into place but I am concerned that eventually it will break entirely off or cause operating issues.  When checking on line to determine what to do about it I found untold numbers of others who are having the same problem with HP laptops.  This seems to be a known problem and I trust that HP will do the right thing and cover any necessary repairs.  I am a senior citizen who uses my laptop sitting on a desk and it has never been dropped or misused in any way.   I have attached photographs which clearly show that there is no damage to this laptop.

Sincerely

Hi@Gmomof10,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution

I have learned from one of the HP representatives this a.m. that there is a Mechanical Failure Advisory on this product and I want someone who can assure me that HP is going to stand behind this damage.'  Please email me at kcbadj@bellsouth.net
