I bought this 28/10/2019 and have used it daily ever since. It has never left the house and I have been careful not to damage it in any way. All of a sudden there was a cracking noise and I am now unable to shut the case without the screen pulling away from the body. Reading this forum it seems to have been a common fault for some time - why have HP not done something about it? Prevously I had been more than happy with the machine. Before this I had a smaller HP model which was fine but because of the small memory only suitable for basic tasks so I upgraded.
Supplier is not interested as it is out of warranty, we live in the country, there is no repair shop handy and I can`t do without it for any period of time so is it possible to fix it at home, bearing in mind I am not particularly tech-savvy.
As mentioned I was quite happy with HP products but if this can`t be sorted I won`t be sticking with them.
