Product: HP Elitebook 840 G4
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G4 and a Lenovo Universal USB-C Dock and they don't work together via USB-C because of the Elitebook's USB-C doesn't support Alternate Mode.  I saw a Dongle HP 4.5mm and USB Dock Adapter that seems to be compatible to HP Elitebook 840 G4 based on the HP Store's Specs.

 

However, I would want to know if this HP 4.5mm and USB Dock Adapter will work on the Lenovo Universal USB-C Dock?

HP Recommended

In theory this should work but is likely untested. Questions that arise:

-is voltage and current from Lenovo adapter going to be adequate

-will drivers work with the HP computer

 

If you have the dock already likely worth the gamble of trying.
