Hello HP experts!
Anyone has any idea where I can find an Optical Bay Hard Drive Caddy compatible with this laptop? It uses a different port Multibay II which is not compatible with any SATA/IDE caddy I could find.
I had some free time and decided to make a complete upgrade to an old HP Compaq 6910p, I swapped the intel motherboard for one with the ATI Radeon x2300 (which is still better than intel), changed the CPU to T9500, added 8GB DDR2 and a SATA 120 GB Kingston SSD for Windows.
I wanted to add a second 1TB SSD/HDD for storage by replacing the optical drive with a caddy but is the first time I've seen that port which is not compatible with any SATA/IDE caddy I could possibly find. This laptop used to be very popular so is hard for me to believe nobody ever made a HDD optical bay for this model.
Any idea where I can find one? Or at the very least an adapter from SATA to Multibay II? Or maybe someone can provide me the PDF with the schematics of that proprietary port so I can do the soldering from the SATA port to the Multibay pins (I couldn't find the schematics either).
Thanks!
