HP Elitebook 755 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As per partsurfer.hp.com, there are 2 system boards for HP Elitebook 755 G3:

827574-001 - SPS-MB UMA W/PROC A8 Pro-8600B

827574-601 - SPS-MB UMA W/PROC A8 Pro-8600B WIN

What's the difference between the 2 boards? WIN means Windows license embedded, while the other board (-001) is simply allowing DOS, and would requie Windows license?

The 2nd question is, since my motherboard is spoiled, if I want to upgrade to A10 or A12 processor, can I just buy

a. 827575-601 - A10-8700B CPU, or

b. 827576-601 - A12-8800B CPU?

Are the boards for 735, 745 and 755 G3 all fully compatible?

745 and 755 use the same system boards. Both covered by the same Service Manual:

Manual

735 I am not sure but if the Part Number is the same its the same board.

And yes, the difference between a -601 and -001 board is the presence of an embedded Windows license in the ROM.

Hi Huffer,

I have accepted your reply as the answer. And yes, based on this 745 G3 and 755 G3 maintenance manual, the part number for the system board is the same. 735 G3 is different from the two. So thank you very much for your help!
