I have many encounters with motherboards having Intel processors, and this is my first time coming across AMD processors. And I know there is no RAM compatibility issue, like Intel CPU must use Intel-compatible RAM sticks, and AMD CPU must use AMD-compatible RAM sticks.
But here I am raising this question. Is there such a thing?
I ask this because the HP 755 G3 I got, a 2nd hand unit, was running A8 processor, and I tried to increase the RAM from 8GB to 16GB, it is unable to recognize the added RAM, which came straight from my HP Envy 15, a laptop using i7 CPU. When it didn't work, I tried putting the stick back to my Envy 15 unit, and it works. I took the RAM stick that is working in the 755 laptop and put it in my Envy 15 unit, and it is recognized. I did this like 3x at least, and really, the result is repeatable: the RAM stick that works in the HP 755 G3 unit works in the HP Envy 15 unit, but what works in the HP Envy 15 unit does not work in the HP 755 G3 unit, either alone, or together with the RAM stick that came with the unit.
Anyway, more important than anything is this: what RAM sticks do I buy for a motherboard that is using AMD A12-8800B CPU? I am intending to buy 2x 8GB DDR3l 14200 RAM sticks.
Please help. Thank you!

Not really true, you can't swap processors between Intel and AMD System Boards but you can swap RAM (if supported) around. You can use following RAM for both Intel and AMD processor (again if supported)
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr3/ct2kit51264bf160bj/ct7738808
Your machine can use above RAM.
Regards.
