HP BA009DX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Does the HP BA009DX utilize dual channel ram mode? After referencing the manual it was my understanding that it did. Therefore, I purchased Crucial's DDR3L - 1600 soDimm 16GB kit (2x8GB). Although my PC recognizes the upgrade to 16GB (8GB in both slots) it is still utilizing single channel mode and operating at 800MHz. Please help, thank you.

Sorry, yes, it is an HP 15-BA009DX. Does it utilize dual channel ram mode? That is where my confusion lies. Both sticks of ram are exactly identical, they were packaged together, but as show in image 1 my computer seems to not recognize their dual capabilities. As shown in the task manager shouldn't the speed be rated at 1600 MHz if they were both recognized as such?

Hi, @JRM17

Your model, since it has an A6 processor and uses DDR3 memory...the memory runs in single channel mode regardless.

See the service manual, chapter 1, page 2, toward the bottom of the page.

The 'Dual" in your screenshot report refers to the number of ranks the memory has.

There is single rank and dual rank memory, and that has nothing to do with single channel or dual channel.
