I need a new power adaptor to replace a the original, which is broken.  I'd like to know exactly what kind to get as I have tried one from an older similar laptop but it couldn't supply enough power to keep the battery from draining during use while plugged in.  I'd prefer to buy the same one that originally came with the laptop but am having trouble locating the correct model adaptor.

Have you checked your adapter on the free replacement list?

The adaptor is not part of the recall.    According to the page you linked me "The notebooks, AC adapters, and AC adapter accessories are not affected. Only the power cords are affected."  In any case, mine does not fall into the date range for the recall.  As for the second link you posted, it takes me to a page where I can search for parts via serial code but I do not know the serial code of the adaptor that I need and entering the product code of the laptop returns no results.  What I would like is either a link to the appropriate adaptor for my laptop or the corresponding serial code that I can plug into that part search you linked me.

Thank you in advance.

Strange. When I went to Part Surfer and enter your Product number-G6U46UA- it brought up the list of parts including adapter.

Ah. It seems that including the #ABA part of the number is what caused it to return no results, my mistake.  Thank you very much for your help.  🙂
