My model: HP Envy X360 13-ay0956nd

 

My usb c port is not working most of the time. I have had instances where I was able to use the usb c port to charge my phone via a dongle, which only worked when it was in the correct way but most of the time it's dead.

 

The HP site says it the usb c port support Displayport 1.4 and because I need the Displayport output for my school I'm in little trouble. I tried holding the power button (10 seconds or 30 seconds) and updating the bios as others have mentioned online but no success. I also tried to diagnostic the usb ports but the UEFI screen says that Thunderbolt/Usb C ports are not supported in that diagnostic tool so I can't test them. The weird thing is that when I plug in a dongle and connect a hdmi cable, which should not be supported, it sometimes works and duplicates my screen.
