HP Elite Dock USB-C G4 video outputs stopped working on my HP ProBook 470

HP Recommended
HP Elite Dock USB-C G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Configuration:

  • HP ProBook 470 running Win 10 Pro 64, latest BIOS and drivers
  • HP Elite Dock USB-C G4 Bios F.37 (latest)
  • 2 x Monitors (1xHDMI, 1xDP) connected to the dock

Dock worked without any issues wih these monitors for over 2 years and all of a sudden video outputs stopped. LAN and USB devices still operate through the dock, so USB-C hardware should be OK. Tested the dock with my other HP laptop (Pavilion gaming) and everything worked OK. Therefore I am suspecting a diver issue.

Uninstalled NVidia drivers, Intel Video drivers, tried all combinations to no avail.

Tried runnnig firmware patch for the dock hoping it may reset it or something and got the following in the output log:

HP Dock Firmware Update Tool (console) v5.0.2

Why can't the NVidia drivers be found? Is there a special driver version to roll back to? Did the latest drivers cause this?

Any help would be appreciated.
