I have an HP Envy 15-AQ118CA.
As far as I can tell, the 256GB SSD contained within is a NMVe PCIe M.2 256gb variety.
I have two question.
1) Can I replace 256gb with a 512gb type 2280 (80mm) variety?
2) Is there a slot available to insert a regular 512GB (or some other size) SSD?
Or to put it more simply, I would like to increase the storage from 256gb to at least 512gb if not more. Is there any way of doing so?
I have looked for info but the best I seem to come out with from the HP site is a spec sheet. The Service and Maintenance guide that was linked to this model is actually for "model numbers m6-aq1XX and m6-aq0XX", and doesn't mention SSD's in any case.
Thanks in advance.

It does have room for you to add a standard HDD or SSD for laptops (ie 2.5"). You need the following parts
- The hard drive bracket and screws are available using spare part number 856789-001.
- The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 856788-001.
You can buy from HP Part Store or

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately they don't seem to ship to Canada. And searching on Amazon.ca comes up empty on those part numbers. Any idea where I can source these parts that would ship to Canada?
Also, do you have a link to the proper service maintenance guide for this laptop?

Everytime I search for the part number 856788-001 it is connected to the Hp Envy M6-Ar or AQ models. I just want to confirm that the M6 and my 15-aq118ca share the same HDD caddy and drive cable.
Also, can you confirm that the service manual for the M6 is the same as the one for my 15-aq118ca?
