HP Envy 15 j126tx hinge defect/issue

HP Recommended
HP ENVY 15 J126TX
Hinge broken without dropping the laptop. Causing the wifi to stop working at times. Speaker buzzes at times as well.

Looking to repair these issues and am wondering if I will be required to pay for these repairs if the warranty period is over as I have looked up and found that many have encountered this issues as well due to a manufacturing hinge defect.

Hope to resolve this issue asap. Thank you.

@Limjinghao, Welcome to the HP Support Forum.

As I understand you have issues with the Hinges of your Notebook.

If the computer is out of warranty, I am not sure if the Service center will fix this issue for free. Normally there will be a cost for the service. I would suggest you check for your options and if you wish to contact the Support team, here is the link Contact HP

I had the same problems with my hinges. Clearly there is a manufacturing fault with the laptop hinges, it is far too common.

At least they replied to you.

You may want to seek legal advice from an ombudsman/consumer group. That is what I am doing anyways.

There should be free repairs given the severity and commonness of this problem.
