I would like to confirm which of the drives will support my HP ENVY M6 Aq003dx

1- M.2 2280 SSD ---OR

2- M.2 2280 NVME SSD

Here is the Service Manual:

If you look at p. 3, it is shown that M.2 SSD is supported only on m6-aq1xxx models and yours is m6-aq0xxx. So you may not have an M.2 slot at all. In other words, please open the laptop to check for the presence of the slot before you buy an SSD. If the slot is present, the Manual lists a 256 gig NVME M.2 SSD as a compatible disk, so that means NVME is supported and you could install any capacity. 

 

This is where the slot will be if you have one:

 

red arrow = M.2 slotred arrow = M.2 slot
