I bought my HP Envy X360 Laptop in February 2021 and the right hinge just randomly broke yesterday (August 2022) when I was closing the lid of the laptop. I am super gentle with my laptop and have never misused/dropped it. My warranty ended less than half a year ago so HP won't repair my laptop.
Going through the HP forum, it appears that this is a pretty common HP laptop issue. It's pretty ridiculous that such an expensive laptop that is supposed to be CONVERTIBLE has such weak hinges built. This seems like a major design flaw and HP should be responsible for fixing all these broken hinges.
