HP Envy17 j110sl Wireless Card Replacement

Product Name: HP ENVY 17-j110sl
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, i want to change my wireless card Ralink RT3290 and in the manual of this PC (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04091762) there is a list of wireless card, at the begin of the section related to the substitution, pag 44.

All the card on this list is compatible for substitution for my PC?

Thanks a lot,

Andrea

Re: HP Envy17 j110sl Wireless Card Replacement

Yes at a minimum. Your laptop is new enough not to have the "whitelist" problem so you can install any wireless adapter of the right form factor. The big problem is likely to be if HP only has provided one (1) wireless antenna lead. If so your upgrade options are very limited. If you have 2 leads, then your best wireless card to install is this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-Ac-Hmc/dp/B00DMCVKMU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490216841&sr=8-1&keywords=Intel+7260ac

Intel 7260ac  + Bluetooth

See page 45 of the manual. This is not a difficult installation since you have an easy open access panel.
